5 Days on the Gold Coast: Mountains, Beaches & Amusement Parks

The Gold Coast, one of Australia’s top tourist destinations and perhaps best known as the country’s holiday playground. A stunning coastal city, located in the state of Queensland. Known for its dazzling array of Gold Coast beaches, nightclubs, theme parks, and more that means there is truly something for everyone. With such a vast array of things to see and do here, it could be quite tricky to dive in and try to complete everything in such a short space of time. That’s why we have put together a recommended itinerary for those who are flying through the surfer’s paradise.

Day 1 - Visit Dreamworld Theme Park 🎡👫🎠🍭

The Gold Coast, the theme park capital, is, therefore, home to a plethora of family-friendly theme parks, amusement parks and other entertainment attractions suitable for all ages. Kick start your trip off at one of the top theme parks in Australia, Dreamworld, and enjoy a day of thrill, fun and sun! Teeming with rides and attractions that cater to all ages, it's hard to not spend one of your days on your trip to the Gold Coast here! Thrill seekers will be in their element when ticking off the rides in this park. Some post popular attractions include; the Giant Drop, the tallest free-fall ride in Australia or take a ride on the tallest inversion ride in the Southern Hemisphere, the Buzzsaw. Guests can make the most of their tickets to Dreamworld as, if rides aren’t for you, then head over to Whitewater world, the park’s water park filled with aquatic fun with slides, rides and swimming pools galore.

Day 2 - Soak Up The Sun On Main Beach 🏖️🌊🌴☀️🏄

After a fun-filled day at the theme parks on the Gold Coast, you may want to take in the glorious sunshine, slow the pace of your holiday down and therefore, kick back and relax on one of the dazzling beaches found here. Stroll along the beachside neighborhoods of the Gold Coast until you reach one of the most popular beaches - Main Beach. Known as the Surfer’s paradise, this is a beach that rakes in a massive number of tourists each year and we can see why! Feeling peckish? Main Beach restaurants are ample, with a number of different cuisines and tastes on offer to satisfy everyone. Fancy a drink whilst the sun sets? Main Beach bars number in the dozens. From casual surf club bars to more indulgent and luxurious lounges, there is something for everyone here. Apart from eating delectable dishes and sipping away o your favourite tipple, Main Beach is known for its play. There is plenty to do here, guests can swim and surf, jet ski, head over to other famous theme parks nearby or, just kick back under the Aussie sun and take in the blazing rays!

Day 3 - Take On Australia's Highest External Building Climb 🧗🌇🇦🇺🌏

If you don’t feel like your inner thrill-seeker was satisfied at one of the theme parks, then we recommend putting aside a day to take on Australia’s Sky Point Climb. An exhilarating outdoor climb that provides climbers with unparalleled views of the stunning Gold Coast region. The climb takes you 270m above sea level, making this the country’s highest external climb (twice as high as the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Connected to an internal handrail for safety, climbers are led to the eagle's nest by an experienced climb leader. Following the guide, climbers will have regular stops to admire the views, learn about the Gold Coast, and look right over the side of the building! Climbers can choose from four different awe-inspiring climb categories; sunrise, day, twilight, and night and can even upgrade their package to enjoy a meal at Australia’s highest dining destination.

Day 4 - Visit The Springbrook National Park 🏞️🌳🍃🐸

Calling all nature lovers! Discover the beauty and diversity of Springbrook National Park located in the Gold Coast region. The 6,197-hectare park is situated on the McPherson Range, near Springbrook, approximately 100 kilometres south of Brisbane. Listed as one of the UNESCO world heritage sites, this is a stunning day trip that treats visitors to spectacular waterfalls, lush rainforest, ancient trees, impressive views, exceptional ecological importance and natural beauty making Springbrook an outstanding place to visit. If you’re tight on time, there are some shorter trails as well as longer ones for visitors to trek and explore. Described as the Noah’s Ark of rainforests, there are plenty of animals who find refuge here that can’t be seen anywhere else in the world.

Day 5 - Surfer’s Paradise Beach Markets 🧑‍🤝‍🧑🏄🐚🛍️

Make the most of taking in the place and the people of the Gold Coast on your final day as we recommend you head down to the Surfer’s Paradise Beach Markets. These fun and goody-filled markets take place every Wednesday, Friday & Saturday between 4 pm to 9 pm. The Surfers Paradise Beachfront Markets are an iconic shopping and cultural experience since 1995. Features artisan and iconic Australian goods, fresh produce, handmade wares and SO much more, this is the perfect spot for tourists to support the local vendors and businesses who showcase their goods to the buzzing crowds. Enjoy a range of restaurants and eateries that cater for all taste buds or check out the many attractions and abundant retail shopping for the perfect night out!
